CASE: My Secret Forest
Impact Campaign in Mexico City (2018)
Impact Producers: Niina Brandt & Saara Helene Rawat
We had a 5-weeks-long impact campaign in Mexico City with "My Secret Forest", courtesy of Finnish Film Foundation & AVEK. The campaign's focused on human rights and everyone's right to be seen and heard. The idea for the campaign and the planning started in DocsMX - filmfestival in the theater Cineteca National in 2017.
We had wonderful teachers Evelyn Alejandra Hernández Castillo ja César Eduardo Acevedo Quintana and production cordinator María Fernanda Jiménez Guadarrama from Mexico working in the campaign. I personally worked there 5 weeks during the tour. We visited and had 24 screenings and discussion events in several places such as public schools and art center CENART in Mexico city. Local autism association Autismus arranged 9 days long festival Azularte where was a screening of the film and discussion event. One of the subjects was the importance of the work that associations do and things that can be achieved. Autismus is started by the parents of autistic children. We visited many tv-programs and gave interviews also to radio and some magazines. Trough these different channels, the impact producing campaign reached about 10 million people during the 5 weeks.- Niina Brandt, Impact Producer

CASE: My Secret Forest
Impact Campaign in Finland (2017)
Impact Producers: Niina Brandt, Jenni Koski & Saara Helene Rawat
Our impact campaign focuses on human rights, particularly the rights of special groups and the right to be seen and heard. Our campaign had 63 partners, including various unions, clubs, organizations, associations, cinemas, and educational institutions.
During the campaign, a total of 39 screenings were held in 25 locations. After the screenings, 94 expert talks were given during the discussions.
The theme was further refined to emphasize the accessibility of films and the right of special groups to see and hear. The film was made accessible with subtitles for the hearing impaired and audio description for the visually impaired. Salainen metsäni (My Secret Forest) was the first audio-described documentary on Yle Areena.
